yea u kno master of puppets.and justice for all. it wasnt metallicas fault that they sucked for those few years. metallica changed me and made me into the music loving person i am today and binge and purge helped. and thank god for death magnetic. they should get flemming rasmussin ( i spelled it wrong) again.
u remember him. my cousin made me watch the vhs' many moons ago and i havent looked back since. itll change ur life forever. bob rock did it. all i must say is metallica is one of the greatest bands of all time and will be remembered for years and years after theyre gone. first of all.
so dont look down on metallica for those few albums (u kno which ones i mean) and buy this. and hopefully by the grace of god he will never EVER produce a metallica album again.
Again the quality of the dvds is fine, if it is a little quiet for ou then turn up your volume, I have a bose system and honestly I have not went past 60, the max is 100, so do not be turned away by any negative reviews regarding sound or picture quality. The two dvds show metallica in there prime and they are of pretty good quality. Some of the negative reviews stated that the sound quality was bad which is not true at all. If you are thinking about buying this product just do it you will not regret it, I watch different songs from the dvds every weekend and it is a product that just keeps giving. This DVD set is hands down the best item I have ever purchased on amazon. I was going back and forth on whether I should buy this DVD/CD set for about a month and I finally purchased it and couldn't be happier. I bought this set originally just for the dvds but have been pleasantly suprised with the three cds from Mexico City, the sound quality of the cds is very very good, not fuzzy one bit and very clear.
Plus, obviously, there's no orchestra. The best parts about this updated version, aside from having DVDs instead of tapes, is the compact packaging and the price; this now goes for half what it used to. Metallica had a reputation (and still kind of do) as one of THE most entertaining, energetic bands to see on tour. This package is worth it for this DVD alone. I don't care, though. Their 80s albums continue to pack a wallop. They introduced a lot of us to the harsh, darker sounds of heavy metal.
Anger here. The DVDs tell the same story, especially the Justice one. Man, this is the best Metallica concert on the market. The old box set came with a book commemorating their life on the road, but here it's available as a special feature on one of the DVDs as barely readable stills. And what a bargain it is. Comparing this Seattle concert to Cunning Stunts signifies just how much this band changed in the 90s. The music is what counts.
The concert on the CDs is way more definitive than S&M, as this music represents Metallica at the end of their prime.
If you made the jump from Maiden and Priest to Kreator and Overkill, Metallica was your stepping stone.

While some people my age are reluctant to admit it these days, Metallica were the Black Sabbath of my generation.
It was originally released as three CDs and three VHS tapes in a big, bulky box.
It's amazing just how much energy they had back then.
my version has the vhs tapes for video i couldnt find the dvd version cheap enough for my tastes. not bad the music cds are good for live stuff. but the videos are pretty good too.
All the concert footage presented here proves why Metallica became Rock Gods. But it was fun playing the unmentioned live version of "So What" to my friends before it became a (Censored) radio regular. Another Gem on this video is the live version of "Breadfan." By far better than the version of "Stone Cold Crazy" that is featured on the "San Diego" set.But even San Diego is worth mentioning.Starting with the 20 min. After this the set seems to slow down and becomes the Metallica we have heard the last few years (then again I did not like the Black album as well as I did the older albums with exception of "Enter Sandman") The real Gem of this show though is seeing Lars Ulrich and James Helfield dualing on Drums. Only problem was with the stencil and booklet, I prefered the larger size stuff that came with the original boxset; however, the concert footage is still legendary.My favorite is still the Seattle "And Justice For All" show. So why did I give this set a 5 star review.
Metallimovie This is basically a review of 2 1/2 years in the life of Metallica redone, then the set blows open with Enter Sandman and you are off and running. I normally bypass this part of the set. or cassette for the Mexico City concert, now it is finally on DVD. The stage is explosive with pyrotechniques and Metallica literally destroy the entire stage before ending the show.
I should know I just purchased my third copy. Because all video taped concerts have their problems, but this concert set is still one of the best produced ones available today.Skip the other Metallica videos and buy this one. This alone reminded me of seeing Kiss in their heyday. When it originally was released it was only available in VHS format with a choice of C.D.
Although I have not purchased the last few Metallica albums since they changed their style, I still purchased this set and was very pleased. Best of all they play the full version of "Master Of Puppets" and not the shortened version they have been playing the last few years. Plus it is 3 1/2 hours of Metallica Live.The two CD set of Mexico City is good but not great. It is the only concert you will need.
This set is the Best Metallica concert set I have ever purchased. This set proves why people who went to see Ozzy Osbourne on his "The Ultimate Sin" tour were really there to see opening act Metallica who were suppoting their Master Of Puppets effort. The solos are overdone and way too long, good thing you can skip them now.
